Our June to December Program: How to Plan Your Year

This coming year our little troop of Daisies grows to a troop of Daisies, Brownies and Juniors. It's going to be such a fun year!  Since I run my own business, I don't have the time to sit and plan everything each week. I prefer to "Batch" the planning so that we know the budget and goals to get to the budget.

Here's what we are doing this coming year. We bridge in June and then spend the summer working on STEM. This way, if a girl needs to take the summer off, she won't miss a lot of badge work but is still working towards something special.

June

Outdoor Challenge All Month (on my honor) Due in July (This is sponsored by our council. Girls are challenged to do 50 to 75 things outside. They earn a special patch.

6/3  Bridging Ceremony Party (ceremony, bubble station, play and art show)

6/17 STEM challenge (chemical reactions) Dino Dig Trip 1-4pm at the Longhorn Center cost $5 per girl scout/younger siblings 4 and up can also attend for $5 each.

6/24 Cars 3 Family Movie Day Come watch the Cars movie with us. Special fun patch for all scouts! The Whole family can come!

July

7/1 Patriotic Crafts and STEM challenges

7/15 STEM challenge (kitchen science/ice cream in a can)

7/29 Backyard Harvest (we will harvest from our garden) and Homemade Pizza Making for snack

August

8/12 Making a Troop Banner/Ask a friend challenge and talking about friendship. Covers Brownies Making Friends Try it Patch, Juniors Social Butterfly and Daisies “be a sister to every girl scout”.

We will also be making some SWAPS to hand out to our new members and their moms.

8/26 Final STEM Class, get their patches for STEM we may have a play outside in the water meeting.

September (there will be a free Girl Scout Recruiting Event this month)

9/9 Promise Center/Considerate & Caring (Daisies)

     Home Scientist and Making Troop Snack for meeting for Brownie Snacks Patch (Brownies)

     Social Butterfly and Simple Meals (Juniors)

9/23 Finish Promise Center/Considerate & Caring (Daisies) and Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout patches (Daisies)

*Welcome new girls to the troop (new girls will complete anything already earned over the course of the next meetings

October

10/7 Talk about camping/work on outdoor badge as a group and will do Daisies Honest & Fair

        Parent meeting for campers 12-12:30pm (must attend so they can camp)

10/21 Start work on Safety Patch (Daisies, Brownies & Juniors) and Friendly and Helpful (Daisies)

         Backyard Campout 4pm (Brownies/Juniors will get credit for Outdoor Patch for some items)

November (Fall Product Sales this Month)

11/4 Visit to the Fire Department to finish Safety Badge (Daisies, Brownies & Juniors) and start Respect Authority for Daisies

11/18 Outdoor Badge/Magic Potions/Bird Feeders for Community (Daisies, Brownies & Juniors) and Friendly and Helpful (Daisies)

December (Holidays Around the World This Month)

12/2 Birds Christmas Tree at Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

12/9 Annual Gingerbread House Decorating and Hot Cocoa Party
