Updated!! Free Patch Programs for Girl Scouts!

If you love fun patches then this post is for you!  These are just some of the free patch programs that I've found! Depending on your state/city, you may have local program too. It's best just to ask! Bigger stores and places (think National Parks) have lot's of opportunities to earn patches. Also check the zoo, local botanic gardens and wild life centers.

Here's just a few I've found:

The Beef Council (Free Princess Patch)

The health benefits of eating foods with zinc, iron and protein and of being active are the messages of the Princess ZIP patch activity for Junior Girl Scouts. Fit For a Princess is a nutrition and physical activity educational program developed by experts in nutrition education. The program’s goal is to teach tween girls these keys to a healthier future, and the approach is fun: learning by doing.

This can go along with teaching any health related patch. The kit comes with 20 booklets and all you pay is shipping and handling. It is geared towards Juniors but anyone can learn from the program.

Calcium Challenge from Cabot Cheese

Cabot Cheese offers the Calcium Challenge & Co-ops for Community Patch. The idea behind the patch is to inspire scouts to learn more about the value of cooperatives as a better business model, and helps to build leadership skills and support community connections. This is great if you are working on a community garden or visit a farmers market. If you can't visit one, you can talk about one for sure!

Girl Scout Ranger Program

Our National Park Service offers a Girl Scout Ranger Program which allows girls to explore the outdoors, learn about the history of national parks, and provide service to our National Parks. This patch program you can design yourself and really only need to make sure you visit a national park.

Just updated!

Healthy Kids

Healthy Kids are offering a new patch program where girls can earn a patch for learning about eating healthy, drinking more water for better health and the importance of physical activity! It's a REALLY fun patch and it's free! All the materials are on the site, just download them and then fill out the form requesting you patch when you are done.
